Untitled Space (a sound installation in Hamilton, ON, Canada) 2017

Note:

Untitled Space is a sound installation that echoes both the geologic tensions that produced the natural formation known as the escarpment, which the Sam Lawrence Park on Hamilton Mountain is itself a part of, and the cultural tensions that exist in the production of human space characterized by division, separation, exclusion, and often overuse. The sound source, an artificial rock, reflects on the partially constructed experience of nature offered by urban green spaces; while the sound collage brings together the pleasures of the sublime historically associated with the experience of nature, interrupted by the occasional reminder of the politics of space.

Soundtrack: 9:40 minutes (Track consists of the sound of sea waves occasional interrupted by the following message: “A sanctuary in space violated by division, exclusion, separation and overuse”)
