In the following triptych, the artifacts are presented in a standardized format where the loss of physical material, out-of-context presentation, and the flattening of material culture into images of itself parallels painting’s inherent material and conceptual properties. As these weavings are recontextualized, they lose some of their surface area and are sometimes supplemented with foreign materials to fit new contexts.
