Note: In 2005, I began to collect traces of the accidental. I saved sheets of paper used as drop cloth and took photos of random objects at rest. Later, I made copies of some of this collection in materials that forced me to invert the processes that created them. The casual and random elements were meticulously reproduced. A series titled Sisyphus is the result of this kind of play between accidents and intentionality, and between modes of representation. I think of these translations as shifts in meaning, and not simply occurrences of simulacra.
